Control of the invading foreign species in habitats
Aim: Record presence and address the spread of Mink population in areas of Northern Greece.
- Impact of Mink on biodiversity and especially on avian species within the protected areas.
- Presence of alien Mink species in the regional units of Pella-Imathia-Pieria – Thessaloniki – banks – and the rivers Aliakmon and Axios -lakes of Vegoritis- Agra – Kalochori
CERTED.EU Task :
- Installation of 4G wildlife monitoring cameras in key areas to confirm the presence of Mink.
- Installation of 4G wildlife monitoring cameras on the arrest traps for immediate notification of interested parties which further ensures the safety and wellbeing of the captured animals.
- Observing and recording the presence and trapping of Mink in real time through the LANDBOX platform and dispatch of ALERT messages to the assigned authorities.
- Exporting the data and statistics collected by LANDBOX platform on the presence of Mink in the target area along with data and statistics on the emerging hours, the density, the population ,the environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, wind, precipitation)
